- Provide advice (pre or post acquisition) to establish your capital allowances entitlement and where necessary, negotiate a disposal value of the plant and machinery with the vendor.
- Liaison with solicitors, accountants and other property professionals to ensure that you are maximising your capital allowances benefits.
- Assess capital allowances claims that may previously have been made to establish whether there is any scope for enhancement.
- Examine all relevant legal and contractual documentation to enable us to progress your claim in accordance with Inland Revenue requirements.
- Carry out detailed property inspections to identify plant, machinery and property that are eligible for tax relief.
- Provide an on-going monitoring service of annual expenditure to ensure the maximisation of tax benefits.
- Prepare schedules of Plant & Machinery and Industrial Buildings Allowances for submission to the Inland Revenue.
- Prepare claims that demonstrate the expenditure meets the criteria of the Capital Allowances Act and other relevant legislation.
- Submit valuations that withstand the scrutiny of the Inspector of Taxes and Valuation Office, and negotiate and agree the claims to your maximum benefit.
- Liaise with solicitors and accountants to assist with the preparation of draft contract clauses and Election Notices under Section 198 CAA 2001 to bring the appropriate disposal values of plant and machinery into account on the sale of the property to minimise future tax exposure.
